The NSW Government has announced that applications for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) are now closed for the current program year. All available nomination places have been allocated. This visa is a points-tested permanent visa designed for skilled workers wanting to live and work in New South Wales.

If you have already submitted an application, you do not need to take any action. Your application will continue to be assessed and finalised once the Department of Home Affairs allocates new nomination places for the next program year.

NSW uses a competitive selection process based on the state's economic skills needs. You cannot apply directly for NSW nomination—you can only be invited to apply. NSW advises interested applicants to explore other migration pathways available through the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs website rather than waiting for an invitation.

The NSW Government is currently reviewing program settings and eligibility criteria for the next program year. Updated information will be published on the NSW website in due course.
