Home Affairs has updated the queue release dates for Other Family visa applications as of 31 May 2026. These visas (Carer, Remaining Relative, and Aged Dependent Relative) are subject to annual caps, meaning there is a maximum number that can be granted each migration program year. Once that limit is reached, remaining applications enter a queue until spots become available in future years. Applications are assessed in lodgement date order against core health and character requirements. Once they meet these requirements, they receive a queue date. As at 31 May 2026, Home Affairs has released applications with queue dates up to: 31 December 2023 for Carer visas, and 30 June 2013 for both Remaining Relative and Aged Dependent Relative visas. All three visa types take approximately 5 weeks to acknowledge new applications. Home Affairs recommends keeping up to date with the latest processing information on their website, as queue release dates are updated as final processing milestones become available.
