Travel restrictions for Visitor visa holders with Iranian passports
An Arrival Control Determination has temporarily suspended Visitor (Subclass 600) visas linked to Iranian passports for 6 months from 26 March 2026. People outside Australia affected by this restriction cannot travel to Australia on their current visa.

This restriction, called an Arrival Control Determination, began on 26 March 2026 and will remain in force for 6 months. If you are outside Australia, hold a Visitor (Subclass 600) visa, and your visa application was linked to an Iranian passport, your visa has temporarily ceased to be in effect. This means you cannot use this visa to travel to Australia during the restriction period. Some people may not be affected by this determination – Home Affairs has indicated that exemptions may apply in certain circumstances, which are detailed on their website under 'Who is not affected'.
