Victoria Opens Skilled Visa Pathway for Early Childhood Teachers
Victoria is now nominating early childhood teachers for skilled migration visas, offering permanent and temporary visa options with extra points and financial support for relocation.
Official source ↗Victoria has launched the Victorian Skilled Visa Nomination program to help early childhood teachers (ECTs) on temporary visas or living overseas to work and settle in the state. The program offers nominations for two visa types: a permanent Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190) that allows work anywhere in Victoria, and a temporary Skilled Regional Visa (subclass 491) for a 5-year period with a pathway to permanent residency in regional areas.
Victoria's nomination adds valuable points to applicants' Australian visa application points test—5 extra points for the subclass 190 and 15 points for the subclass 491. Importantly, nomination does not require employer sponsorship and provides unrestricted work rights once visa conditions are met.
Eligible ECTs can access financial support including relocation incentives and supplements for those moving more than 100 kilometres to take up a kindergarten-funded role. Interested early childhood teachers should register their interest on the Live in Melbourne website.
